Assisted McDonald's by helping them avoid negative reactions in China, regarding McDonald's listing China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, as separate countries on their website. See:

Hello Bill:

Thank you for taking the time to contact McDonald's.....

In response.....we have added McDonald's China to the list of international webpages from our home page on www.mcdonalds.com. Additionally, we changed the title for this listing to Country/Region to appropriately reflect the contents of the listing.

Again, thank you for sharing your comments with McDonald's.

I was informed by our China office, that there is negative news regarding the design of www.mcdonalds.com web page. For example: No mention of China on the country listing. Only mention of Hong Kong as being a separate country (it is not. It is part of the People's Republic of China). And listing Taiwan as a separate country, and according to the People's Republic of China, Taiwan is part of China.

I would advise that someone immediately look into these issues so as to avoid costly negative advertising for McDonalds in China.

I have been involved in licensing in China, and have much experience at it. My company information can be seen at:

Sincerely,

Bill Shook
